  • Location: GPP Cycling & Multisport Bike Shop and Training Center Bentonville 2614 SE J St, Bentonville, Arkansas 72712
  • Event Director and Contact: Derek Yorek
  • What we have here is a Community Fitness Showcase. Now, what exactly does that mean? I'm glad you asked. It's all in the words used. First, COMMUNITY. The idea behind this competition is to bring the fitness community together to promote health and fitness, which leads to a happier life for ourselves and our children. Next is FITNESS. The word "Fitness" is used all too much lately, but we're defining it as an all-around ability to perform athletic movements. Anything from carrying rocks, to running, to swimming, to lifting weight, to gymnastics movements, and so on and so on. There will be ZERO people leaving this competition feeling left out on a strength OR weakness. Lastly, is the SHOWCASE. We want every person, gym, fitness affiliate, studio, etc. to put their particular skills on display for everyone in the community to see and to learn from. Not one of us is a perfect all around athlete, and we won't ever be, but we can sure learn from each other and narrow the gap a bit! Make no mistake, this is a COMPETITION! There will be a winner!! The idea here is not to win something though. As such, there are no awards. If you are the winner, you get the pride of standing on top of a podium and declared the most all around fittest team as defined by our competition. It's a point of pride here.  Show us what you got!
  • Teams of 4 (2 male/2 female) showcasing your all around fitness in a competition bringing together NWA's best! Only 20 teams will be able to compete!

Back 40 MTB Trail Ride

  • Date: December 10th 2017
  • Start Location: Blowing Springs Park Bella Vista AR
  • You've heard about the nationally acclaimed trails in Northwest Arkansas. Here is your chance to run and ride the newest gem in the collection on December 9-10, 2017 at the Back 40 Trail Run & Ride. Brought to you by the same team from the award winning War Eagle Trail Running Festival. The Back 40 is the first of a multi-phase project that plans for a total of 150 miles of natural-surface trail through the City of Bella Vista’s 45 square miles. The construction of the trail system is by NWA Trailblazers and has been fully funded by a $3 million grant to that organization from the Walton Family Foundation. Thanks to the City of Bella Vista for the opportunity to organize this event. Mayor Peter Christie approached us with this idea and we jumped on it. This is a two day event that allows trail runners and mountain bikers to come together and play in our new backyard.
  • Three distances for the run and ride are 10k, 20 mile and 40 mile. We encourage you to participate on both days. Trail runners will go on Saturday and riders take their turn on Sunday. Our goal is for each group to support the other on race day and to enjoy hanging out together afterwards. Race headquarters will be at Blowing Springs and the entire park will be reserved for racers. Camping will be available. Reserve camping here. Food trucks will be on site as well as a beer garden hosted by a local brewery.
